Join us as we host our 2023 annual hot dog eating contest next month on Friday, June 9 on the courthouse lawn! We will have live music from Mary Pfeifer from 12pm-2pm. Hot dog contest will take place at 1pm – with funds being raised starting at 12pm.

Although we will not be selling hot dogs this year you are welcome to bring a sack lunch or buy lunch from a local restaurant and enjoy live music and the contest that afternoon. We will have limited picnic tables but encourage you to bring lawn chairs and/or lawn blankets!

The organizations that will be benefiting this year are: United Way, We Care of Grundy County, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Breaking Away, Justice Assistance Board, Morris Woman’s Club and the YMCA Scholarship Fund.

Contestants will have two chances to win $250 for a local charity of their choice.
The contestant who eats the most hot dogs in 2 minutes will receive $250 from Grundy Bank for the charity of their choice.

Contestants will also have the opportunity to raise money from the event attendees from 12pm to 1pm on the Courthouse lawn. The contestant who raises the most money in that time period, Grundy Bank will match up to $250.

Each year, this event has raised a total of over $5,000 for various local charities in Grundy County. It’s a great way to support and give back to the charities that support our community.
